KPCC staff and productions win Golden Mikes
KPCC staff won four Golden Mike awards from the Radio and Television News Association of
Southern California at their 50th annual Golden Mike Awards Presentation on January 22. The
awards included Best News Special for "Children and Environmental Health/' produced and reported by Hsa__Seiziol, hosted by Larry_Mantle, and edited by Lance Harper; Best Individual News
Writing for "Clinics, Cultures and Cures/' reported bv Ton Beaupre, produced by Asa Setziol, and ed-
ited by Lance Harper; Best News Reporting for "Health Dialogues/' funded by the California Endowment through KQED; and Best Commentary or Editorial for a "Dear Rudy" segment of The
Savvy Traveler, in which KPCC host Kittyjtelde talked of her recent trip to Rwanda.
On the same day, Larry Mantle was honored by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles with the "1999 Consumer Education Award" for his work on AirTalk. The CAALA cited
Mantle's "outstanding work in informing the public about the civil justice system." Bravo to all!
